Cost control has been hard to achieve in Value-Based Care, regardless of payment models. With lowering total cost of care (TCOC) a key Quadruple AIM goal, APP Quality Reporting opens new avenues to ACOs to amplify their opportunities to examine patient costs and create targeted interventions. In this area we’ll highlight five areas where ACOs can segue their quality measurement activities into cost performance gains to lower TCOC.
Learning Objectives:
• What’s “Total Cost of Care”, and how does it relate to quality?
• How can APP Reporting information can be used to fuel better cost performance?
• Which 5 cost areas can ACOs immediately address with quality measurement outputs?
• What is needed to embark on cost control initiatives?
• How can ACOs set up systems to feed cost performance?
• How do ACOs address specialty costs?
• What obstacles stand in the way of cost control, and how can ACOs address them?
Learn how to help your ACO advance its profile under risk and achieve control over the total cost of care.
