Dr. Peng has scratched the service on the value of pharmacists in value-based care. Pharmacists, using advanced clinical decision support tools, have been documented to reduce medical costs avoiding hundreds of millions of dollars compared to risk-matched control groups. The sooner value-based care organizations embrace advanced clinical pharmacists as part of the team, the more they will realize better economic, clinical and humanistic outcomes giving ACO and other value-based care provider groups a new lever for improved shared-savings. Thank you, Dr. Peng for starting this most important conversation!
